Big hit?
The brand new Bavaria 29 Speed had a difficult start. The Franconian shipyard, known for its successful and affordable boats, was not only met with approval. What is the real story behind the company's smallest ship? Bavaria and no end in sight. The largest German yacht shipyard - with an annual output of around 400 boats - is launching more new models onto the market. A distinction is made by the additional designations Holiday (charter yachts), Exclusive (owner's yachts) and Speed (good sailors). What they all have in common is a lot of boat and shackles for the money, and while the fleet family is making more and more friends, the youngest and smallest offspring was only hesitantly accepted. Some missed the Bavaria-typical genes of the lush hull, which qualify the boat for chartering, and thought they had identified other flaws.

The Bavaria 29 Speed is a successful design. It is consistently aimed at defined groups of buyers and areas and thus fulfils the shipyard's own specifications: a well-sailing, lively, almost sporty boat for inland waters and for the small active crew with a limited budget. Sailing performance instead of storage space and headroom is the motto. The price of around 95,000 marks is very reasonable in view of the boat and equipment. Even if Bavaria was not able to significantly undercut most of the competition with this boat - as is usually the case.
